Le casta Encruzado est exclusive à la région du Dão, elle est assez équilibrée, aromatique et confère aux vins une grande longévité. Les plants poussent sur des pentes situées entre 350 et 400 mètres d'altitude. La vigne est conduite dans le cadre d'un programme de protection intégrée, l'application de désherbants étant interdite. Le contrôle des adventices est effectué par mobilisation du sol. La vendange est manuelle, lorsque les raisins atteignent le point optimal de maturation, se situant dans la deuxième quinzaine de septembre. Ce vin de première production a été vinifié en inox à 13ºC, deux tiers de celui-ci ayant terminé la fermentation en fûts neufs de chêne français, où il a séjourné pendant 12 mois. Production : 1.300 bouteilles.
