Il Whisky Nikka Coffey Malt è un whisky single malt originale, distillato a partire dal malto in un alambicco Coffey, ed è uno dei componenti essenziali dei blend Nikka. L'alambicco Coffey è stato così chiamato in onore del suo inventore, Aeneas Coffey. Nel 1830, l'irlandese nato in Francia perfezionò questa tecnica, che divenne ampiamente adottata dagli scozzesi per la produzione di blend, permettendo loro di superare l'Irlanda come produttore di Whisky per eccellenza. Il processo di distillazione è continuo, mentre negli alambicchi utilizzati per la produzione di Single Malt sono necessarie due distillazioni separate. Nikka possiede due alambicchi Coffey nella sua distilleria Miyagikyo per la produzione dei suoi grain whiskies. Importati dalla Scozia nel 1963, questi alambicchi antichi producono spirits molto rotondi, con un carattere distintivo che definisce i blend di firma Nikka.

Un primo naso animato, aspro e piccante! Fresco e agrumato, è un'ode al limone, che la dolce pera Williams riesce a malapena a moderare. Note di pepe fine e un pizzico di aceto balsamico si mescolano con delicati aromi di vaniglia.
