È un liquore fondente dal sapore di cioccolato fondente, con sentori di arancia e vaniglia. La Crème de Cacao esiste da molto tempo e Bols è stato il marchio predominante, evidenziato dall'originale Alexander e dalla sua variante molto popolare, Brandy Alexander. Negli anni '80, Bols Crème de Cacao veniva utilizzato principalmente nei gelati cremosi, ma ultimamente si è dimostrato altamente adattabile a vari cocktail dopocena come il Mulata Daiquiri e l'After Eight.
