Degustato alla cieca, il Petrus 2012 ha dimostrato un bouquet fruttato di lampone maturo e fragolina di bosco, sotto il quale si trovano aromi di grafite e sottobosco. Sembra raffinato, discreto e persino indifferente. Al palato è di medio corpo con un'apertura leggermente sapida, come se ci fosse una piccola goccia di Cabernet Franc. I tannini sono fini ma decisi, i frutti rossi sono intrisi di carne cotta, pepe nero e note di salvia, anche se mi aspettavo un finale più corposo. Questo potrà anche evolversi nel tempo, ma resta un Pomerol maestoso che probabilmente meriterà un punteggio più alto con l'affinamento in bottiglia, da qui il segno più nel punteggio.
