Il Vinho Vertente Tinto è un vino di grande eleganza e complessità, che combina magistralmente la frutta e la concentrazione dei vini del Douro con la freschezza dei vini della Niepoort. Le uve per il Vertente provengono da vigne vecchie di oltre 60 anni, situate sulla riva destra del fiume Douro e da una piccola parte di vigne di circa 30 anni piantate nella valle del Rio Tedo, nella Quinta de Nápoles.

Rubino concentrato
Al palato ha grinta e nervo, è complesso e ha una buona struttura. È però fine ed elegante. Tannini molto ben integrati, con buona acidità che gli conferisce un finale lungo e molto piacevole
Al naso si mostra giovane, ricco e complesso con note di pepe nero combinate con frutti rossi e selvatici, dove spiccano la prugna e la ciliegia. Il legno si mostra ben amalgamato con alcune note affumicate. Mostra inoltre aromi minerali di pietra bagnata
