Este vino proviene de la exclusiva región de Quinta dos Pasmados, en Azeitão. En el año 1998 se tomó la importante decisión de sustituir la variedad Chardonnay por Viosinho, cambiando también el origen del Arinto y del Esgana de terrenos arcilloso-calcáreos a arenosos. En 2005, con el objetivo de mejorar la complejidad del vino, se integró la variedad Viognier cultivada en nuestros viñedos desde hace más de 40 años. Alrededor de 1999, el enólogo Domingos Soares Franco se encontró, en las bodegas, con varias botellas del Pasmados Blanco de 1963. Exhibiendo un tono amarillento que evidenciaba su envejecimiento natural, el aroma mostraba evolución, manteniéndose fino, aterciopelado y sutilmente afrutado. En el paladar, destaca por su agradabilidad y sorprendentemente bien estructurado, presentando una calidad excepcional y una acidez notable. Inspirado por este descubrimiento, Domingos Soares Franco decidió entonces probar la producción de un Pasmados con potencial de envejecimiento, tomando como referencia el de 1963. De las mejores cosechas se guardan en bodega pequeñas cantidades de botellas, que luego son comercializadas años más tarde con la denominación casi olvidada de Garrafeira. Rescatando también la clasificación de Garrafeira, nace así el Pasmados Garrafeira.#JMF
