Akashi Single Malt 5 Años Red Wine Cask es un whisky producido por la destilería Eigashima - White Oak, ubicada en el sur de Japón, a orillas del Mar Interior de Seto. Para esta edición limitada, el Chef Blender de la Casa seleccionó cuidadosamente algunos single malts envejecidos durante 4 años y medio en barricas de Cognac, transfiriéndolos después a barricas de vino tinto francés para una maduración de 10 meses. Akashi Single Malt 5 Años Red Wine Cask se embotella sin coloración y sin filtración en frío, con una graduación alcohólica del 50%. Relativamente desconocida, la destilería White Oak forma parte de la historia del whisky japonés, siendo la primera destilería en Japón en obtener una licencia de destilación en 1888. Sin embargo, fue solo en 1919 cuando comenzó la producción discontinua de destilados de malta, y en 1984 se estableció una instalación totalmente nueva dedicada a la producción de whisky en el sitio de Eigashima.
