Vinificación del Niepoort White Colheita 2012: En 2012 la región del Douro experimentó falta de lluvia. Como resultado, el ciclo vegetativo de la vid se retrasó en promedio 15 días respecto a años anteriores. Por otro lado, el invierno de 2012 también trajo temperaturas muy bajas, resultando en un crecimiento vegetativo homogéneo. Las temperaturas durante el período de maduración no fueron tan cálidas como de costumbre, creando un buen equilibrio en la acidez total de los mostos. La vendimia se llevó a cabo durante el mes de septiembre y tras una cuidadosa selección en la mesa de elección, las uvas trituradas y los engaços fueron directamente transferidos a lagares de granito donde fueron pisados antes de la fortificación.

En boca es muy delicado pero con estructura. Los 10 años en barrica integraron el aguardiente en su complejidad aromática. La acidez picante que caracteriza los puertos blancos Niepoort equilibra la dulzura, terminando largo y persistente.
La nariz es compleja, revelando notas de avellanas, albaricoque, cítricos, miel y especias.
