The vast majority of the grapes come from the Pinhão River Valley; Touriga Nacional and Tinta Roriz withstand the heat experienced in the summer very well. To these were added grapes from other Douro valleys, resulting in a classic blend of the region. The fermentation occurred in a mix of closed vats to ensure freshness and aromatic components, as well as open vats (lagar) to ensure greater complexity and structure.
