Porto Fonseca Guimaraens Vintage: The year 2019 displays all the character of fine fruit that we expect from the Guimaraens vintage combined with a freshness and finesse typical of the year. Produced in years when a Fonseca Vintage is not declared, the Porto Vintage Guimaraens are traditionally made from a blend of the best wines from the two estates that the company owns in the Vale do Pinhão: Quinta do Cruzeiro and Quinta de Santo António. In recent years, the wines from Fonseca's main estate, Quinta do Panascal, have also contributed to the blend.

Almost black in the center with a narrow garnet border.
The palate is wonderfully balanced, with plenty of volume and a lively acidity that runs through the middle of the palate and leads into a long finish, elevating the wine and giving it freshness and vigor. The tannins are stretched and well-knit together, providing structure and volume, and the finish ends with notes of dense berry wild fruits.
"The nose is complex and intense, built around a core of concentrated blackberry, blackcurrant, and cherry. As the nose opens up, the curtain rises in multiple dimensions of a complex aroma, including notes of salty herbs, cedar notes, cigar box, and a subtle hint of roasted coffee."
