Luis Pato Quinta do Ribeirinho Pe Franco Há cerca de 23 anos nasceu o projeto Pé Franco, com o objetivo de recriar o perfil dos vinhos produzidos na Europa antes da chegada da filoxera. Para isso, foi plantada uma vinha de 1,2 hectares da casta Baga em solo arenoso, com videiras não enxertadas — uma prática tradicional que evita o ataque da filoxera, devido à resistência natural deste tipo de solo. Este projeto procura, assim, preservar a autenticidade e a expressão original da casta.Casta Baga com cerca de um século, proveniente de solos argilo-calcários, com uma produção muito limitada de apenas 282 garrafas.A produção provém atualmente de 2,5 hectares de vinha, com rendimentos muito baixos — cada videira dá apenas um cacho, sendo necessárias cerca de seis plantas para produzir uma garrafa. Este nível de produção, aliado a práticas de seleção rigorosas, permite obter um vinho estruturado, capaz de equilibrar os taninos e a acidez natural da região. Destaca-se ainda pelo seu elevado potencial de envelhecimento, superior a 20 anos, sendo ideal para assinalar momentos importantes ao longo da vida.
