Description
The Château Beychevelle 2001, Fourth Grand Cru Classified of Saint-Julien (Médoc), represents an elegant and balanced harvest. With an approximate blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and a touch of Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc, the wine reveals refined aromas of blackcurrant, cherry, cedar, earthy notes, and hints of licorice and damp soil. On the palate, it presents a medium body with soft tannins and balanced acidity, reflecting a classic and lasting structure — some critics describe its finish as slightly stern, yet still very noble. Rated around 88 to 92 points, this is a Beychevelle that has already reached stability but still retains charm, being fully drinkable between 2008 and 2025.
