Beauséjour Duffau Red Castle 2000
- Inventory on the way
Description
The Château Beauséjour (Duffau‑Lagarrosse) 2000 is a Saint‑Émilion Premier Grand Cru Classé B notable for the harmony between earthy structure and fruity grace. With a classic blend of roughly Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Cabernet Sauvignon, it offers complex scents of dried cherries, plums, eastern spices, and camphor, supported by a delicate mineral base. Medium-bodied, gently full-bodied, it shows polished tannins and freshness that balance its richness, resulting in a long and refined finish. Although it does not reach the legendary status of the 1990 vintage, it was rated between 90‑93 points by critics such as Robert Parker and Wine Spectator, with an ideal drinking window recommended between 2010 and 2035 (some critics mention periods up to 2038). This wine very well represents the limestone soil of Saint‑Émilion and the growing identity of the estate in the late 1990s.
