The Château Angélus 1994, a Premier Grand Cru Classé of Saint‑Émilion, is a mature and impressive expression of this great Bordeaux terroir. With still deep coloration and purple-black nuances, it reveals on the nose intense aromas of smoked meats, barbecue-style spices, and notes of cassis and concentrated kirsch. On the palate, the fruity density contrasts with a salty minerality and velvety tannins, only slightly rustic in texture, with a shorter finish than expected for a wine of this category, yet still elegant and balanced. According to Robert Parker, this vintage is a true "tour de force" in winemaking, standing out for its purity, intensity, and consistency.
