Aus Trauben der typischsten Sorten des Alentejo, die in der Unterregion Borba angebaut werden, wurde der Wein Rótulo Cortiça hergestellt, ein wahres Exlibris von Adega de Borba. Die Trauben stammten von alten Reben und hatten eine strenge Kontrolle über den Reifeverlauf, da sie in kleinen Mengen geerntet wurden. Im Weinkeller begann nach dem Entrappen und sanften Zerkleinern der Trauben die alkoholische Gärung, die etwa 10–15 Tage dauerte, wobei die Temperatur auf 24 °C kontrolliert wurde, um die fruchtigen Aromen und Geschmäcker der Traube besser zu extrahieren. Um die polyphenolische Komplexität, die Tannine und die Struktur des Weins zu erhöhen, verblieb er in einem Mazerationsprozess nach der Gärung im Bottich. Anschließend fand die malolaktische Gärung in Edelstahlbehältern statt. Um seine organoleptischen Eigenschaften hervorzuheben und zu verbessern, reifte der Wein 12 Monate lang in Fässern des 3. und 4. Jahres aus französischer Eiche und in Fässern aus exotischem Holz. Anschließend reifte er 6 Monate lang in einer Flasche im Keller.

Weicher Geschmack mit leichter Adstringenz, ausgewogen, mit einer reifen Fruchtnote, mit weichen, aber strukturierten Tanninen und einer Eleganz am Ende des Geschmacks.
