Vinificazione del Niepoort White Colheita 2012: Nel 2012 la regione del Douro ha sperimentato una carenza di pioggia. Di conseguenza, il ciclo vegetativo della vite è stato ritardato in media di 15 giorni rispetto agli anni precedenti. D'altra parte, l'inverno del 2012 ha portato anche temperature molto basse, risultando in una crescita vegetativa omogenea. Le temperature durante il periodo di maturazione non sono state così calde come di consueto, creando un buon equilibrio nell'acidità totale dei mosti. La vendemmia si è svolta durante il mese di settembre e, dopo un'attenta selezione al tavolo di scelta, le uve schiacciate e i raspi sono stati trasferiti direttamente in tini di granito dove sono stati pigiati prima della fortificazione.

Al palato è molto delicato ma con struttura. I 10 anni in botte hanno integrato la grappa nella sua complessità aromatica. L'acidità pungente che caratterizza i porti bianchi Niepoort equilibra la dolcezza, terminando lungo e persistente.
Il naso è complesso, rivelando note di nocciole, albicocca, agrumi, miele e spezie.
