Famosa per il suo Vino Porto dal 1751, Ferreira si dedica anche alla selezione e all'invecchiamento di acquaviti di vino di alta qualità. È nelle nostre cantine a Vila Nova de Gaia che le acquaviti vengono accuratamente scelte e invecchiate in botti di rovere da 270 litri. Per ottenere la massima qualità, si effettuano periodicamente degustazioni e si introducono vari lotti di diverse età e caratteristiche. Dopo aver scelto il lotto finale, l'acquavite viene posta in botti da 640 litri, dove invecchia. L'Aguardente Velha Chancella è ottenuta da acquaviti selezionate (liquore ottenuto dalla distillazione di vini bianchi) provenienti da lotti di alta qualità. È un'acquavite naturale senza additivi e invecchiata per alcuni anni in botti di rovere portoghese nelle cantine Ferreira.
