Di colore viola-nero opaco, Petrus 2016 scivola senza sforzo fuori dal bicchiere con note di calde prugne nere, composta di mirtilli, rose rosse, tè di Ceylon, violette, ciliegie ricoperte di cioccolato fondente, liquirizia e bastoncini di cannella, con note di minerale di ferro, mina di matita, sigari non fumati e pietrisco. Corposo, profondo e assolutamente edificante al palato, gli strati densamente confezionati e meravigliosamente profumati di frutta rossa e blu racchiudono una carica come defibrillatori che ti fanno battere il cuore, ognuno con scintille floreali e speziate dolorosamente sottili, perfettamente incorniciate. e tannini granulosi e una freschezza audace, che termina con una lunghezza incredibile e lo porta a profondità che si estendono fino a un provocatorio sottofondo ferroso.
