Le uve per produrre questo vino provengono dalla vigna del Carril, una vigna con più di 70 anni rivolta a nord, e da vigne vecchie di circa 100 anni, vicine alla Quinta de Nápoles. Il Batuta è il risultato di una vinificazione delicata, con macerazioni prolungate, ma con poca estrazione dove tutti i dettagli sono attentamente considerati per ottenere un vino complesso, fine ed elegante. È pieno di concentrazione, tipica delle vigne vecchie del Douro, ma allo stesso tempo fresco e delicato.
