O Quinta dos Murças Margem, proviene da vigneti situati lungo la riva del fiume Douro, dove si trovano alcune delle parcelle più antiche della tenuta. La sua bassa altitudine e l'esposizione solare prevalentemente a Sud producono uve che raggiungono una maggiore concentrazione e maturazione. Vinificazione del Vinho Quinta das Murças Margem Tinto: vendemmia manuale, selezione al tavolo, diraspatura, pigiatura, fermentazione alcolica con lieviti indigeni a temperature controllate (25ºC a 28ºC) in tini di granito con uso della pigiatura a piedi e pressatura in una vecchia pressa verticale. Affinamento in barrique da 500 litri di rovere francese usato, per circa 9 mesi.

Concentrato, presenta tannini molto maturi che, insieme a un'acidità ben integrata, gli conferiscono una sensazione di volume, corpo e freschezza. Ha un finale molto lungo e persistente, dove dominano gli aromi di frutti più maturi, permettendo di prevedere una grande longevità
Molto intenso ed esuberante, dove dominano i frutti neri maturi, come la mora e il ribes nero, gli aromi balsamici, come l'erica, e note delicate di spezie, derivanti dall'affinamento in legno usato
