All'inizio del XIX secolo, nasceva una delle pagine più interessanti del Vino Portoghese, nasceva un vino che sarebbe diventato un'icona, oggetto di desiderio, ma che è sempre stato mantenuto, per volontà propria, lontano dai riflettori. Il suo creatore, Alexandre de Almeida, importò il concetto di unire l'hotellerie di lusso a una cantina e a un vino proprio. Nascevano così i grandi Vini del Buçaco. Se guardiamo indietro, dalle sue prime vendemmie, comprendiamo l'importanza di questa icona, che è stata servita a re, regine, capi di stato, come dimostrano i menù, orgogliosamente conservati all'Hotel Palace Bussaco. I vini del Buçaco erano proprio così, oggetti di culto, limitati a circoli molto ristretti, all'élite. I Buçaco sono stati, e lo sono ancora, sempre vinificati allo stesso modo, con gli stessi principi di un tempo. La loro "miscela", delle regioni del Dão e della Bairrada, garantiva così un vino geniale, che evolveva nobilmente in bottiglia e le sue etichette fantastiche e nobili, che mantengono fino ad oggi il simbolo del suo pedigree, della sua stirpe. Bere un Buçaco è viaggiare nel tempo, è bere un vino glorioso, creato da Alexandre Almeida, un visionario. Un'opportunità che tutti coloro che apprezzano il Vino dovrebbero avere, anche solo una volta nella vita.
