Dal 2002, la famiglia Roquette do Crasto (Douro, Portogallo) e la famiglia Cazes de Lynch-Bages (Bordeaux, Francia) hanno unito le forze per condividere le loro conoscenze e produrre vini unici nella privilegiata regione del Douro, patrimonio mondiale dell'UNESCO. In alcuni anni, quando la qualità delle migliori botti è assolutamente eccezionale, viene dichiarato il vino XISTO. La trama è composta da vigneti di Touriga Franca, Touriga Nacional e Tinta Roriz provenienti da appezzamenti situati in diverse sottoregioni del Douro.
