Quinta das Carvalhas è una proprietà di grande bellezza e spettacolarità, con una posizione predominante sul versante della sponda sinistra del fiume Douro a Pinhão, che si estende lungo le pendici della sponda destra dell'affluente Rio Torto. I riferimenti scritti più antichi sulla Quinta risalgono al 1759. Quinta das Carvalhas Vintage 2011 Porto Vinificazione: vengono raccolte solo le uve perfettamente mature, ripetendo l'operazione durante tutto il periodo della vendemmia. Una volta raccolte, vengono trasportate in cantina in piccole cassette, dando inizio all'antico processo della battitura dei piedi nelle tradizionali presse in granito, che, per la loro forma, permettono un perfetto contatto tra il mosto e le bucce, consentendo una maggiore estrazione. La fermentazione viene interrotta con l'aggiunta di acquavite di vino, seguita dall'affinamento in tini di rovere per un periodo di 2 anni.
