Un Petrus prodigioso, questo vino ha quel livello extra di intensità e complessità che è monumentale. La magia è chiaramente Petrus, e il 2000 sarà sempre un'annata interessante da confrontare con un'altra leggenda della produzione, il 1998, o più recentemente, ovviamente, con il 2005, 2008 e 2009. Estremamente corposo, con grande purezza di frutto , con una nota inconfondibile di sottobosco, tartufo nero, amarene intense, liquirizia e mora, il vino sembra non mostrare tracce di rovere. Ha una struttura sontuosa e untuosa, molto tannica, ma anche vibrante e luminosa. Questo vino necessita di almeno altri 5-10 anni in cantina e deve invecchiare per più di 50 anni.
