Tres meses de verano sin agua: ¡nunca se había visto algo así en la memoria del viticultor! Este sorprendente clima, increíbles condiciones, combinado con los terroirs de Angelus, nos brindaron una gran cosecha, impredecible e inesperada. La vendimia transcurrió sin contratiempos, del 4 al 21 de octubre. Las largas maceraciones nos permitieron extraer los taninos de las semillas, que este año estaban muy maduras. Estos taninos tienen una estructura elegante y estable que perdurará en el tiempo. Como esperábamos, las uvas Merlot tienen un color sumamente profundo y su riqueza en alcohol está perfectamente integrada. Predomina la fruta, la frescura, la raza y la elegancia. El crujiente del Cabernet Franc, como sospechábamos en el momento de la vendimia, realza esta gran cosecha del Ángelus. Los vinos de la cosecha Angelus nos cautivan por su nivel de calidad: un toque de taninos de cachemira, gran suavidad y notas especiadas, rivalizando en elegancia con el Merlot. 2016 es una cosecha radiante, a imagen del increíble verano que marcó su identidad y su destino.
