Durante la maduración, Balvenie Islay Cask se transfirió de barricas de roble tradicionales, en las que se envejeció durante al menos 17 años, a barricas que anteriormente contenían una sola malta de Islay. El resultado es un Balvenie característicamente bien envejecido, cuyas suaves y dulces notas de roble se equilibran armoniosamente con un delicado toque de turba. Su final duradero y ricamente meloso.
