Las uvas provienen de dos viñas del Cima Corgo, una en Covas do Douro y la otra en Ervedosa do Douro, ambas con más de 80 años; la primera plantada a 400m de altitud, orientada al Oeste y la segunda plantada a 570m y orientada al Norte. Las variedades predominantes son el Rufete, Touriga franca, Tinta carvalha, Malvazia preta, Alicante de Bouchet, y el Donzelinho tinto entre otras. Las dos viñas fueron vendimiadas por separado, habiendo sido las uvas vinificadas en balseiros abiertos de madera vieja de vino de Oporto recuperada, ambas con un 60% de raspón. La maceración total fue de 29 días, tras el prensado el vino, que envejeció en barricas de 350 litros y 228 litros para el vino de Ervedosa. La fermentación maloláctica se llevó a cabo en barrica, en contacto con las lías y su envejecimiento total fue de 18 meses.

En boca es intenso y fresco, con gran profundidad, con una acidez bien presente, mostrando una estructura sólida con tanino presente, vivo y equilibrado. El final de boca es largo y persistente.
Aromas complejos, con notas de fruta fresca, baya de bosque y hojarasca, ligera nota de humo.
