Madeira Tinta-Negra Vinhas Velhas das Vinhas Mantas 2008 This 2008 harvest was produced with grapes from the centenary "Vinha das Mantas", located above 550 meters in the Freguesia do Jardim da Serra, Estreito de Camara de Lobos. It was foot-trodden with fermentation at a controlled temperature of 15 degrees for two weeks, having been fortified with the pomace in the press. The wine was clarified 48 hours after the fermentation was interrupted. The remaining pomace was pressed immediately afterwards in the vertical press and mixed with the clarified wine. A cask with a capacity of 700 liters was used to age the wine, which was not completely filled to allow immediate contact with oxygen. The aging took place in warehouse E, very hot in summer and quite cold in winter. In July 2023, 1043 units were bottled, all numbered.
