EL VINO 1872 Quinta da Foz Vinha da Placa, tinto Vinhas Velhas, se destaca en la larga historia de Quinta da Foz como una fecha inmortal, perpetuada en la inscripción sobre una piedra en la fachada de la casa principal, que marca la fundación de la Quinta . Para esta edición se preparó cuidadosamente un blend que nació en la parcela más antigua, cálida y mejor expuesta de Quinta da Foz, con una mezcla de más de 30 variedades de uva autóctonas.
El corazón del arbusto es profundo.
En boca presenta buen volumen, taninos redondos pero firmes, acidez equilibrada, notas de frutas negras y un final largo, fresco y armonioso.
Aroma de buena intensidad, con notas de frutos rojos y negros muy maduros. Con una madera presente pero bien integrada, dando como resultado un conjunto muy complejo con notas dulces, especiadas y balsámicas.
