El viñedo fue plantado en el siglo XIII. En 1305 pasó a ser propiedad de Bertrand de Got, arzobispo de Burdeos. Nombrado primer Papa de Aviñón con el nombre de Clemente V, conservó la propiedad y la llamó "Pape Clément". Durante más de siete siglos este terruño de cualidades excepcionales produce vinos apreciados por su elegancia y complejidad. Se sirven en los mejores restaurantes del mundo. La vendimia comenzó el 25 de septiembre de 2015.
