La Real Companhia Velha fue fundada el 10 de septiembre de 1756 por Cédula Real del Rey D. José I, bajo los auspicios de su Primer Ministro, Sebastião José de Carvalho e Melo, Conde de Oeiras y Marquês de Pombal y desde entonces ha sido fiel a sus antiguas tradiciones, ofreciendo los mejores Vinos de Oporto.
La Compañía posee algunas de las mejores Quintas del Duero, ubicadas en las mejores zonas de la Región. Los Oportos Blancos se originan en Quinta do Casal da Granja, donde el clima fresco es perfecto para la producción de uvas blancas. Los Oportos Rojos se producen en parcelas plantadas en Quinta das Carvalhas, Aciprestes y Síbio. Los Viñedos Antiguos ubicados en Quinta das Carvalhas son el origen de nuestros Oportos Premium como Vintages y Colheitas.
