O Adelaide Tinto 2016 é um vinho originário de uma vinha muito velha, de onde não se extraem mais do que 400 gramas de fruta por planta. Uma vinha centenária, crescida num barranco de difícil acessibilidade num afluente do Douro, com uma grande variedade de castas, como antigamente se plantava. O resultado é um vinho tão raro, tão único e tão sublime como foi a Dona Antónia Adelaide Ferreira.E depois há o ritual de decisão. Sendo uma homenagem à tetravó dos actuais responsáveis da Quinta, João Ferreira Alvares Ribeiro, Francisco Ferreira e Francisco Olazabal, o vinho só é lançado se, por unanimidade, os três tetranetos estiverem de acordo. O critério é simples. Tem concentração suficiente? É complexo, fresco, com taninos sedosos? Terá vida longa, de décadas? Será um Grand Vin? Se todos estiverem de acordo, há Adelaide. Mas basta uma dissensão, um desacordo, um amuo, para que o vinho tenha outro destino: a cave, onde ficará a aguardar que o tempo lhe traga a complexidade desejada — uma complexidade longe das modas do presente — ou outro, menos nobre, batismo.É este o protocolo.
