Fue en Quinta Nova de Nossa Senhora do Carmo donde se realizó el primer estudio de plantación monovarietal en la región del Duero. Entre 1979 y 1981, junto con el Ministerio de Agricultura portugués, a través del Centro de Estudios Vitivinícolas del Duero, Quinta Nova eligió las mejores exposiciones solares para estudiar la plantación de tres variedades de uva: Tinta Roriz, Touriga Nacional y Touriga Franca. Parcela 28 de Quinta Nova plantada con la variedad Tinta Roriz, de 2.650 metros de extensión y 25 de pendiente, situada a una altitud entre 205 y 210 metros. Esta variedad demuestra claramente el desafío enológico y la perseverancia humana en la conservación de una Duero antigua y auténtica. En boca se nota la austeridad de la variedad, pero al mismo tiempo nos seduce una sofisticación un tanto contemporánea que, combinada con el viñedo centenario (Parcela 21), crea un coupage que revela un referente en el Duero portugués. , un vino lleno de mineralidad, frutos azules, rico en notas especiadas de estructura firme y boca muy estrecha. La alta concentración, densidad y profundidad expresan claramente su origen.Producción: 3900 botellas.
