A principios del siglo XIX, nació una de las páginas más interesantes del Vino Portugués, nació un vino que llegaría a convertirse en un ícono, objeto de codicia, pero que siempre se mantuvo, por voluntad propia, fuera de los focos de atención. Su creador, Alexandre de Almeida, importó el concepto de combinar la hotelería de lujo con una bodega y un vino propio. Así nacieron los grandes Vinos de Buçaco. Si miramos hacia atrás, desde sus primeras cosechas, entendemos la importancia de este ícono, que fue servido a reyes, reinas, jefes de estado, como lo demuestran los menús, orgullosamente guardados en el Hotel Palace Bussaco. Los vinos de Buçaco eran así, objetos de culto, limitados a círculos muy cerrados, a la élite. Los Buçaco fueron, y aún son, siempre vinificados de la misma manera, con los mismos preceptos de antaño. Su "mezcla", de las regiones del Dão y de la Bairrada, garantizaba así un vino genial, que evolucionaba noblemente en botella y sus fantásticos y nobles etiquetas, que mantienen hasta hoy el símbolo de su pedigrí, de su estirpe. Beber un Buçaco es viajar en el tiempo, es beber un vino glorioso, creado por Alexandre Almeida, un visionario. Esta es una oportunidad que todos los que aprecian el Vino deberían tener, aunque sea una vez en la vida.
