A Malvasia Preta foi plantada na Quinta das Carvalhas em 2002, virada a sul. É caracterizada por um cacho pequeno, compacto e com bagos pequenos e película fina, o que nos fez acreditar que nasceria um vinho fino, elegante mas com um carácter duriense bem vincado. Estávamos certos! E, de forma a preservar essas características, a fermentação decorreu em pequenas cubas de inox com contacto pelicular, seguindo-se um estágio de 8 meses em barricas de carvalho francês usadas de forma a não mascarar o carácter varietal esta espetacular casta.

Um vinho com uma elegantíssima estrutura onde prima novamente pela intensidade de boca com um tanino fino e um final de prova longo e muito persistente.
No nariz salientam-se notas de fruta preta e cítricos, complexadas com nuances apimentadas, num perfil aromático muito intenso e fresco.
