Con uvas de las variedades más típicas del Alentejo, producidas en la subregión de Borba, se produjo el vino Rótulo Cortiça, un verdadero ex libris de Adega de Borba. Procedente de viñas viejas, la uva tuvo un estricto control sobre la evolución de la maduración, habiéndose vendimiado en pequeñas cantidades. En bodega, tras despalillar y estrujar suavemente la uva, se inició la fermentación alcohólica que duró unos 10-15 días con la temperatura controlada a 24ºC, para una mayor extracción de los aromas y sabores frutales de la uva. Para aumentar la complejidad polifenólica, taninos y estructura del vino, este permaneció en depósito en un proceso de maceración post-fermentativa, posteriormente se realizó la fermentación maloláctica en depósitos de acero inoxidable. Para potenciar y potenciar sus características organolépticas, el vino envejeció durante 12 meses en barricas de 3º y 4º año, de roble francés y en barricas de maderas exóticas, tras lo cual tuvo una crianza de 6 meses en botella en bodega.
Rubí definido con matices rojos.
Sabor suave, con ligera astringencia, equilibrado, con un frutado maduro, con taninos suaves pero estructurados, y una elegancia al final de la cata.
Aroma fino y elegante, sugiriendo frutas negras, mermelada y chocolate blanco.
