Vinho Vertente Red 2019 is a wine of great elegance and complexity, which masterfully combines the fruit and concentration of Douro wines with the freshness of Niepoort wines. The grapes for Vertente come from old vines over 60 years old , located on the right bank of the Douro River and a small portion of vineyards around 30 years old planted in the Tedo River valley, in Quinta de Nápoles.

In the mouth it has claw and nerve, it is complex and has a good structure. It is, however, thin and elegant. Very well integrated tannins, with good acidity that gives it a long and very pleasant aftertaste.
The aroma is young, rich and complex with notes of black pepper combined with red and wild fruits, including plum and cherry. The wood is well combined with some smoky notes. It also shows mineral aromas of wet stone
