La Quinta das Carvalhas es una propiedad de gran belleza y espectacularidad, con una posición predominante en la ladera de la margen izquierda del Río Douro en Pinhão, que se extiende por las laderas de la margen derecha del afluente Río Torto. Las referencias escritas más antiguas sobre la Quinta datan de 1759, y sus magníficas Viñas Viejas, de plantación post-filoxérica, están alcanzando la respetable edad de un siglo. Vinificación de la Quinta das Carvalhas Vinha do Eirol tinto: Tras una cosecha manual de carácter quirúrgico, las uvas son transportadas a la bodega en cajas de 20 kgs. Después de pasar por una cuidadosa selección manual, los racimos son dirigidos a un pequeño balseiro de roble francés en el que solo el 30% de los racimos son despalillados y aplastados. A continuación, se lleva a cabo la fermentación alcohólica a 24-26ºC, con un ligero "pisage" y remontajes realizados a cubo con el fin de buscar una buena pero cuidadosa extracción. Después de la fermentación alcohólica, el vino termina la fermentación maloláctica y se envejece en pipas y barricas usadas de roble francés.

En la prueba se muestra amplio y muy seductor, con sabores muy frescos y originales, sugiriendo matices de bosque y frutos silvestres, terminando muy intenso y persistente.
En la nariz se muestra muy fresco y expresivo, con matices de frutos rojos y cítricos, que combinan armoniosamente con notas vegetales y de hierbas aromáticas.
