A principios del siglo XIX nació una de las páginas más interesantes del vino portugués, nació un vino que se convertiría en un icono, en el blanco de la codicia, pero que siempre se mantuvo, por voluntad propia, fuera de los focos. Su creador, Alexandre de Almeida, importó el concepto de combinar hoteles de lujo con bodega y vino propio. Así nacieron los grandes Vinos de Buçaco, si miramos atrás, desde sus primeras cosechas, nos damos cuenta de la importancia de este icono, que era servido a reyes, reinas, jefes de Estado, como lo demuestran los menús, conservados con orgullo en el Hotel. Palacio Bussaco. Los vinos de Buçaco eran objeto de culto, limitado a círculos muy cerrados, a la élite, los vinos de Buçaco se vinificaban y se vinifican siempre de la misma manera, con los mismos preceptos que antaño. Su "mezcla", procedente de las regiones de Dão y Bairrada, garantizó así un vino brillante, que evolucionó noblemente en la botella y sus fantásticas y nobles etiquetas, que siguen siendo hasta hoy el símbolo de su pedigrí, de su cepa.Beber un Buçaco es viajar en el tiempo, beber un vino glorioso, creado por Alexandre Almeida, un visionario.
