Con uvas de las variedades más típicas del Alentejo, producidas en la subregión de Borba, se elaboró el vino Rótulo Cortiça, un verdadero ex-libris de la Bodega de Borba. Provenientes de viñas viejas, las uvas tuvieron un riguroso control en la evolución de la maduración, habiendo sido vendimiadas en pequeñas cantidades. En la Bodega, tras el despalillado y suave estrujado de la uva, se inició la fermentación alcohólica que se prolongó por unos 10-15 días con la temperatura controlada a 24ºC, para una mayor extracción de los aromas y sabores frutales de la uva. Para aumentar la complejidad polifenólica, los taninos y la estructura del vino, este permaneció en cuba en un proceso de maceración post-fermentativa. La fermentación maloláctica ocurrió posteriormente en recipientes de acero inoxidable. Para realzar y elevar sus características organolépticas, el vino envejeció 12 meses en barricas de 3.º y 4.º año, de roble francés y en toneles de madera exótica, tras lo cual siguió un envejecimiento de 6 meses en botella en bodega.
