En 2019, las precipitaciones no sólo fueron escasas en los meses de invierno, sino que se extendieron a lo largo de todo el año. Sin embargo, el Duero y, en el caso de Niepoort, la subregión de Cima Corgo, tuvieron suerte gracias a dos factores compensadores: por un lado, los meses de verano fueron inusualmente frescos y, por otro, las lluvias puntuales del 26 y 27 de agosto, además de algunas Las lluvias muy limitadas caídas en la tercera semana de septiembre resultaron invaluables. Como resultado, el análisis de los mostos fue muy equilibrado, con altos niveles de acidez, aportando frescura y una magnífica elegancia. En la bodega Vale de Mendiz la cosecha comenzó el 2 de septiembre en condiciones favorables y las últimas uvas se recibieron en la primera semana de octubre. El LBV se embotella en su cuarto año, manteniendo la tradición de Niepoort de priorizar al máximo la frescura en sus vinos.
El color se concentra con un tono rubí y toques violetas.
En boca es estructurado, firme y con una acidez que lo diferencia de otros vinos. Comienza dulce y termina casi seco, largo, fresco y especiado.
