Los vinos utilizados para producir Fonseca LBV se eligen entre los mejores y con cuerpo vinos de Oporto tintos producidos en la cosecha de 2016, procedentes de los viñedos de Fonseca y otras fincas de renombre ubicadas en las zonas de Cima Corgo y Douro Superior en grandes barricas de madera (. de unos 27.500 litros de capacidad) y se embotellan al cabo de cuatro a seis años. Sólo se produjo una cantidad limitada de este fabuloso vino.
Núcleo de color morado oscuro con borde rojo.
En boca, especias, moras silvestres, té de Assam con sus notas de chocolate negro, cacao y un seductor toque herbáceo. Presenta excelente tensión, concentración de frutos negros silvestres, taninos sedosos y un final fresco y chispeante, con un retrogusto muy largo y generoso.
Nariz rica, seductora y muy fragante. Notas de mora, ciruela y frambuesa silvestre y regaliz, presenta una maravillosa tensión. Las moras añaden una capa adicional de fruta suave y carnosa, una mezcla de frambuesa y grosella, con un toque de dulzura floral.
