Porto Ferreira Dona Antónia Tawny 20 Years is an exceptional Port Wine, a symbol of the excellence of the Ferreira brand's style in creating old tawny Port Wines. Its classic profile, of great elegance and complexity but with great freshness, is unique, being one of the most recognized and celebrated wines in the world. The hand-picked grapes were vinified according to the traditional Port Wine method. The controlled fermentation of the musts took place in stainless steel vats and was stopped by the addition of grape spirit. The wines were very elegant and with great aging potential. The wines that make up the final blend of this Porto Ferreira Dona Antónia Tawny 20 Years remain in the Douro until they are transported to the Ferreira cellars in V.N. Gaia the following spring, entering the traditional Port Wine aging scheme, in oak casks, with the Porto Ferreira style. During this period, the wine undergoes numerous rackings, analyses, and tastings, which allow monitoring its aging, and acting with blending, refreshings, and corrections whenever the tasting determines. The final blend is obtained using wines aged between 15 and 40 years, in order to always achieve with the average age, the type, quality, and style of Porto Ferreira Dona Antónia Tawny 20 Years.
