O Guatemala XO is a rum made from molasses distilled in a column still, aged for 4 years in ex-bourbon white oak barrels in the tropical climate of the Hondo River region, before being transferred and aged for 16 months in ex-sherry Oloroso and Pedro Ximenéz barrels in a continental climate (in Italy, to be more precise), before being bottled at a classic 40% vol.
