At Quinta da Boavista, to guarantee the preservation of the grape variety's characteristics and total control of the production process, we resort to manual harvesting and manual selection of bunches, followed by de-stemming and gentle crushing of the berries. As fermentation reservoirs we have the traditional lagares made of granite with foot treading, stainless steel fermentation vats and, for small batches, food grade PVC containers or fermentation in new 500 liter French wooden barrels. Each of these types of fermentation gives the wine a particular style. As a winemaking philosophy we have only one: to delicately extract the best characteristics of our grapes. All wines are 100% aged in French oak barrels and after a period that varies between 15 and 20 months, the different batches are formed. . All wines are sealed with natural cork. Not being filtered or stabilized by cold, they can give rise to a precipitate with age.
Vibrant ruby color
In the mouth, vigor reigns, well-defined tannin that over time merges with the fruit and enhances the structure and finesse of the whole. Overflowing with freshness, this is a powerful wine with a lot of life ahead of it.
It presents an aroma of black fruit, of great breadth and generosity, well complemented by fresh notes of fine and elegant spice.
