Morgado de Sta. Catherina is a reference for Arinto wines from the Bucelas region, carrying the centuries-old heritage of the great white wines of the region. The history of Morgado de Santa Catherina, which included the Quinta da Romeira, dates back to 1703, the year it was established, fulfilling the intentions of D. Catarina de Bragança, queen consort of England. Wine made from Arinto grape variety, from the vineyards of Quinta da Romeira, with manual harvest. The musts fermented in stainless steel tanks and French oak barrels. The percentages were properly adjusted to allow the wood to be well integrated, without compromising the freshness, aromas, and characteristic flavors of Arinto. During the 8 months of aging in French oak barrels, the integration of the wine with the wood was promoted through batonnage. After this period, the final blend was made, aging in stainless steel tanks until bottling.
