Tout a commencé en 1974, lorsque João António Cerdeira a planté une petite parcelle de vignoble entièrement composée du cépage Alvarinho à Melgaço. Cette parcelle a été appelée « Soalheiro » car, en raison de son emplacement, elle reçoit la lumière du soleil toute la journée. Aujourd'hui, la troisième génération de la famille, les frères Maria João et António Luís, avec leur mère, Maria Palmira Cerdeira, poursuivent le projet familial. António Luís a acquis une connaissance approfondie du cépage Alvarinho tout au long de sa vie. Maria João, prend la responsabilité de la viticulture et a introduit avec succès la production biologique dans nos vignobles.
