Ce n'est pas le Verdelho-Gouveio, ce n'est pas le Verdelho-Verdejo, c'est le Verdelho-Verdelho, l'Original ! Viticulture : Un terroir unique au monde, au milieu de l'océan Atlantique, à la base de la montagne volcanique du Pico, les vignes sont plantées dans les fissures de la roche, au bord de la mer, où l'on entend le "chant du crabe", car c'est ici qu'il y a le plus de soleil et de chaleur. Une proximité de, parfois, quelques mètres qui oblige à protéger la vigne par des murs (courrals), des vents forts et salins de l'Atlantique. Vinification de Verdelho L'Original Blanc d'António Maçanita : Vendanges manuelles sélectives en paniers de 20 kg, pressurage de grappes entières, soutirage après 12h. Fermentation spontanée en cuves horizontales de 600-1000L. Élevage : 30% 6 mois en fût sur lies fines.
