Vinha do Lado owes its name to the fact that it is located on a small plot of vineyard next to Adega Vila Santa in Estremoz. This is a 1.5ha plot of Tinta Caiada, planted on a south-facing slope and with soil of schist origin. The harvest is done manually in 15 kg boxes. The grapes are de-stemmed and carefully selected on the manual sorting table. After crushing, they are trodden into marble presses using traditional foot treading. Transfer to a stainless steel tank where alcoholic fermentation ends. This is followed by 12 days of post-fermentation maceration. They are then aged in half barrels of 300 liters of 1st and 2nd year French and Hungarian oak, for a period of 12 months.
Intense color
In the mouth it reveals good acidity, soft, but with firm tannins, and a long aftertaste.
