The grape harvest began at Quinta do Panascal da Fonseca, in the Távora valley and on its estates in the Pinhão, Cruzeiro, and Santo António valleys, during the week of September 22nd and was carried out in warm and dry conditions.

The first impression on the palate is of silky smoothness, but the tannins suddenly burst on the palate with a sharp assertiveness and a thread of acidity that runs through the palate to provide a lively freshness. There is an abundance of fresh wild berry flavours that linger into the long finish.
The nose is dense and compact, with impressive depth and structure. The quality of the fruit is excellent, a delightful blend of red and black fruit aromas mixed with notes of dark chocolate, distinctive features of Fonseca vintages.
